I recently updated my Firefox 1.0.7 to 1.5 and also from jre1.4.2 to jre1.5.0. All of a sudden I don’t find applets working anymore.
So who is the culprit here ?
i couldn’t figure out. But was quite sure that its neither Firefox nor Java for the obvious reason given below.
The applets turns up but goes off in a split second. I got the answer from one of the posts wherein i was searching for answers. It was Adblock that had caused this problem. Disabling adblock solved the issue.

With
Gmail providing 2.5 GB of mailspace and counting….
There is
another here to give 1000 GB.
So what does that mean…. a
storage war ?
Whatever… Im still a fan of Gmail (for that matter, all google products) and anyway registered for an account with mailnation.net.
Registration was done in a flash and it was great to see 1000 GB upfront.
Checked the interface which was quite gud and read my first mail for the account (apparently from mailnation.net).
Saw a sentence at the bottom of the mail which sounded “no mails from yahoogroups or else your account will be deleted without any notice“.
I gracefully deleted my account.

I wanted to know if there was a way to uninstall the USB 2.0 drivers in Windows XP. Infact I just needed a downgrade to USB 1.1 to solve a problem that i faced.
I used the following search term “uninstall usb 2.0″ windows xp drivers in google. It resulted in a 5 page result (or is it 3!!). Just clicked on next and bang the 4th and 5th page links are no more. Is that from google that produced innovative and efficient tools ? surprised me a lot !!.
After all, To err is human.

Bought a compaq presario laptop with the not so good ATi Radeon Mobility card.
Say you what, I had to search like hell for the latest drivers and though manage to get those their performance are pathetic (buggy drivers).
One fine day it shutdown automatically, I initially suspected it to be the OS fault. Then suspected the graphics card as the machine shuts off mostly while playing games.
But after a year long research , the culprit was the thermal sensors that are expected to shutdown automatically once the cpu temperature rises to alarming level. But in my case it was due to the fault in the thermal sensors that made the laptop shutdown automatically.
Ironically it was hp’s forum (it was not hp but the pathetic users of hp products like me) that throwed light on the same.
Check out the forum http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/bizsupport/questionanswer.do?threadId=15787 for more info.
My suggestion is please don’t go for HP products when it comes to Notebooks. Its buggy thermal sensors will make your life miserable.

It is quite unusual if your Windows XP (be it home/professional edition) is stable. So when it crashes all of a sudden (for reasons unknown even to Bill’s men) it generates CHK files under a hidden folder usually named FOUND000 , FOUND001 and so on.
Ever wondered why they are for. At times MS does something good so as this to cover up the crash.
Check out what Eric Phelps has to say on these type of files. Also has some tools that helps you to receive lost files from these CHK files.

Chennaites are unfortunate when it comes to Cricket . They have a dubious distinction of missing 4 consecutive matches. Courtesy : The Rain God or is it the BCCI . Certainly BCCI had to be blamed for all this schedule . Though the monsoon failed miserably for the last 4/5 years, it didn’t this time around. Quite unfortunate that such a good behaving crowd had to undergo this.

Happened to come across this site eSnips. Quite a cool one. Provides 1 GB of server space where you can upload any file and later share with your friends and relatives. It has cool features too.
Above all no annoying ads and pictures , has a remarkably clean interface.
It is in its beta version. Really worth a try.
